I had the pleasure of meeting Mickey Carroll on a vacation where he was signing autographs. He was such a pleasant man and I enjoyed talking with him very much! Now when I see the movie, I always look for him and knowing that I met and talked with him makes this movie that much more special to me. So sorry to hear of his death!

Dear Mickey Fans; As my children and I watch the Wizard of Oz this evening, as we have so very many times over the years, we appreciate the joy this man has brought to the screen. Reading about how he brought joy to others and gave so much of himself to charities and health causes over the years, we appreciate him now even more. His life was a hit! He was, "...tall enough for anything..." as my daughter, Katelyn, so profoundly said once as a child to my mother as Nana was cleaning windows and Nana said she wished she was taller...my daughter said, "Nana, you're tall enough for anything". Mickey--You were, "...tall enough for anything"! Thank you for dedicating your life to all the causes you did! It's Mickey's giving back that was the most award winning!! Thank you Mickey Carroll!!

My family had the pleasure of meeting Mickey Carol in myrtle beach,S.C. in july 2003. He was just the nicest person! We talked for about 30min. or more. He shared stories with us and lots of memories about the Wizard of Oz movie. Who he had met along the way of his career. It was so interesting! I never thought I would ever meet someone from the movie I grew up watching! It was memories I will never forget! We have pictures of our girls with him! I will treasure it always! He will be missed.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mickey in Nashville at The Opryland Mall. He was autographing Wizard of Oz prints. We purchased one for our then, 4 year old daughter. The Wizard of Oz was her favorite movie at the time and there were multiple showings per day. She was really imppressed to meet Mickey. He was so very kind and sweet to our daughter. This is what he wrote on the back of the print we purchased that day. "To Martha, May the magic of Oz always be with you. -Mickey Carroll- Munchkin Love 1-19-03" My daughter and I will always treasure our meeting Mr. Carroll and the beautiful autographed print. He must have been a very special and gentle man.
